Horizontal & Bulkhead Windlasses
When the locker is shallow, the deck is thick or below-deck access is tight, Maxwell's horizontal windlasses put the motor and gearbox in a watertight case on deck — and the BH8 hides the whole windlass on a bulkhead inside the locker. Full automatic rope/chain handling with free fall, from 4.5 to 20 m boats.
HRCFF & HRC10 — automatic rope/chain, horizontal
The compact HRCFF brings Maxwell's automatic free-fall technology to a hard-anodised, die-cast case that bolts straight down — with the rope-to-chain transition handled by the proven pressure-arm system inside. The HRC10 steps up to 850 kg pull with a wrap-around chainwheel using more than 90° of engagement. The HWC3500 handles chain-only rodes on vessels to 20 m.

The HRCFF free-falls from the helm or footswitch, disengaging automatically on power-up; the HRC10 offers manual free fall via its cone clutch.

BH8 — the hidden windlass
New from Maxwell: the BH8 mounts on a bulkhead inside the anchor locker, leaving the foredeck completely clean. A quick bracket flip adapts it to bow or stern installations, the Wave Design™ chainwheel handles rope/chain or all-chain rodes, and free-fall deployment is automatic. Up to 900 kg of pull from a 14 kg unit.
