Vetus E-POD 10kW

The Vetus E-POD 10kW represents a fundamentally different approach to electric marine propulsion. Rather than a conventional inboard motor driving a remote propeller through a shaft, the E-POD integrates the motor, mounts, cooling, gearbox, clutch, propeller shaft, and propeller into a single unified pod that mounts externally on the hull.

The E-POD uses a direct-drive permanent magnet brushless motor with the external propeller functioning as the motor rotor — an innovative design that maximises efficiency and minimises mechanical complexity. The 360° liquid cooling system ensures optimal thermal management, and the integrated thrust bearing and shaft system eliminate the need for separate stern gear components. Reduced propeller cavitation from the external mounting provides exceptionally quiet operation.

The E-POD is ideal for new builds where the hull can be designed around the pod installation, and for retrofit projects where removing internal shaft-line components simplifies the conversion.
