Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers
A quality solution for aggressive fluids
Bowman stainless steel shell-and-tube heat exchangers are purpose-built for the toughest cooling duties — where contaminated coolants or aggressive fluids like chemicals, synthetic oils and refrigerants would defeat lesser materials. Manufactured throughout in 316L stainless steel, handling heat loads from 9kW to over 800kW.

Built for the Fluids That Punish Ordinary Coolers
When the cooling medium is dirty or the process fluid is corrosive, standard heat exchangers simply won't last. Bowman's stainless steel shell-and-tube units are engineered specifically for these conditions, cooling aggressive chemicals, synthetic oils, refrigerants and contaminated water reliably where other grades of material would fail.
Every unit is constructed entirely from 316L stainless steel, including a 9.5mm tube stack fixed to the outer body and paired with specially designed baffles for efficient, turbulent heat transfer. The compact shell-and-tube format integrates easily into existing process pipework, and units are available in single or 3-pass configurations. Maximum working pressure is 20 bar, with maximum temperatures of 200°C on oil and 110°C on water.
Proven across food and beverage, biomass energy, oil and gas, paper and pulp, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries, these exchangers are UK manufactured to ISO 9001:2015. As Bowman's Australian distributor, Luxfords backs every unit with qualified engineers, computer-aided selection and maintenance workshop support on both coasts.

316L Stainless Steel Construction
These heat exchangers are built from 316L stainless steel throughout the entire construction — shell, tube stack and end fittings — giving them the corrosion resistance needed for chemicals, synthetic oils, refrigerants and contaminated cooling media. The tube stack uses 9.5mm tube to maximise heat transfer surface area and thermal efficiency.
The use of 316L across every wetted component, combined with ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing, is what makes these units the right choice for demanding sectors such as chemical processing, paper and pulp, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries where lesser materials would corrode or fail.
Correct Installation
The compact shell-and-tube design is easily integrated into existing process pipework. Correct model selection is critical to performance — Bowman's computer-aided selection software, run by Luxfords' qualified heat-transfer engineers, ensures the right unit is matched to your duty before installation.
Servicing & Parts
All models feature easily removable end covers that give direct access to the tubes for cleaning. Because the tube stack is fixed, all cleaning and maintenance can be performed without draining the primary circuit, minimising downtime. In Australia, Luxfords supports every Bowman unit with maintenance workshops on both coasts, plus genuine Bowman replacement parts.
Applications
Process Cooling
Bowman stainless units form part of a process cooling system for Siemens inverter drives at a UK power station, using river water.
Automotive Engine Testing
Specified for a major automotive testing company in China to meet demanding high-specification requirements.
Industrial Process Cleaning
A process cleaning facility built around a Bowman stainless exchanger was installed at a major UK baking group.
