DC Oil Coolers
Compact, efficient oil & transmission cooling
Bowman DC oil coolers pack genuine, big-cooler performance into a compact shell-and-tube design. Fully sealed to handle oil pressures up to 30 bar and gearboxes on engines rated up to 180kW, they're ideal for marine gearboxes and oil systems where space is tight but reliability can't be compromised.

Big Cooler Performance in a Compact Package
The Bowman DC is a single-pass, shell-and-tube oil cooler engineered for applications where space is at a premium but performance cannot be compromised. With a fixed tube stack and specially designed internal baffles, it drives efficient heat transfer from a remarkably small footprint, and is fully sealed to reliably handle oil pressures of up to 30 bar.
Built using the same size tubes as Bowman's larger oil cooler range, the DC features a solid brass body with a durable nickel-plated outer shell, a corrosion-resistant 90/10 cupro-nickel tube stack, and tough neoprene end covers. A wide choice of four oil port sizes (3/8" and 1/2", in both BSP and NPT), three seawater pipe sizes, and in-line or right-angle end covers means there's a variant to suit almost any installation.
DC oil coolers have been selected for some of the toughest applications on land and at sea, with hundreds of thousands of units in service worldwide. Manufactured in the UK to ISO 9001 standards and supported in Australia by Luxfords with genuine Bowman product, expert selection advice and maintenance workshops on the east and west coasts.
Why Choose Bowman DC Oil Coolers?

| DC60 | 80 kW | 105 ml | 200 ml | 1.1 kg |
| DC90 | 140 kW | 160 ml | 240 ml | 1.3 kg |
| DC120 | 180 kW | 200 ml | 325 ml | 1.7 kg |
Oil ports available in 3/8" and 1/2" (BSP or NPT). Straight and right-angle neoprene end covers available; units also supplied without end covers. Full ordering codes and dimensions are in the brochure.
Materials & Construction
The DC oil cooler is built around a solid brass body finished with a nickel-plated outer shell, giving a durable, attractive surface that resists wear and corrosion. The tube stack is manufactured from 90/10 cupro-nickel — the same specification used throughout Bowman's larger oil cooler range — for excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and long service life.
Tough neoprene end covers complete the assembly and protect the connections. A choice of straight or right-angle covers in three seawater pipe sizes, plus four oil port options, lets you configure the exact unit your installation needs.
Servicing & Parts
The neoprene seawater connections are designed for simple installation and easy removal using only a screwdriver, making routine cleaning and maintenance quick and straightforward. End covers are available as individual replacement parts, and Luxfords backs every unit with maintenance workshops on both the east and west coasts of Australia.
